Böseblick Ensemble is developing a new piece that delves into the complex emotions surrounding grief and the process of letting go. The piece is going to be developed in Morphine Raum on October 17th, and on the same day, the ensemble invites those who are keen on hearing and listening to the work in progress - as well as other older improvisational themes and structures that we will be recording at Morphine Raum on that day - at 20:00. The new planned piece will explore themes of loss, acceptance, and transformation. By interweaving stories and symbols of release, the ensemble seeks to evoke a shared emotional sonic journey, capturing the tension between remembrance and moving forward and finding the delicate balance of holding on and the peaceful resolution found in letting go.
Founded in 2021, Böseblick (“Evil Eye”) is an ensemble of four Berlin-based musicians with very different backgrounds in terms of origins and musical influences, and the electronic instrumentation they play.
Rituals, superstition, good and evil ghosts, visions and apparitions – how do these express themselves in electronic sound?
Blurring the line between composed and improvised playing, the Böseblick Ensemble’s music combines elements of melody and noise with fluidity and grace, articulating a reflection on contemporary issues of cultural appropriation, homeland and togetherness, and creating soundscapes beyond established traditions.
